We are looking at how we can best support the health information needs of stroke survivors who speak different languages. This work is ongoing and the information on this page may change as we continue to learn and improve. Translation is complex, and we are committed to working closely with communities to better understand what people need and how we can support them.
We have translations below of some of our information about stroke in a range of languages.
If you cannot find written information in the language you need, you can still speak to our Stroke Support Helpline. Call us on 0303 3033 100 and ask for our telephone interpreting service, which is available in more than 200 languages. With an interpreter on the call, our helpline team can answer your questions about stroke.

European languages
Some of the translations in the list below were carried out by our partner organisations in other countries. The PDFs were translated from five guides we produced in English in 2021 and 2022.
Some of these PDFs give contact details for stroke support and medical care in other countries. To find out about support and treatment in the UK, use our website or contact our Stroke Support Helpline on 0303 3033 100.
For health professionals signposting people to publications, the English language versions are below. Please note the English versions are now only available as downloads, not as printed guides.
- When you have a stroke.
- Next steps after stroke.
- Supporting a stroke survivor.
- How to reduce your risk.
- Transient Ischaemic attack.
We have a series of British Sign Language videos that cover the information in our Stroke support pack.
You can find these on our YouTube channel on the playlists: After your stroke and Supporting someone after a stroke.
South Asian languages
These PDFs were translated from three guides we produced in English in 2017. Some mention two Stroke Association services that we no longer offer. The funding partnership for our Life After Stroke Grants has now come to an end and our Know Your Blood Pressure events have been discontinued.
Our benefits and financial assistance webpages have up-to-date information if you’re experiencing financial difficulties. You can also contact our Stroke Support Helpline on 0303 3033 100 for information and to find other sources of support.
