About us

We're the UK's leading stroke charity. Find out more about what we do.

Committed to change

At the Stroke Association, our approach to solving inequity in stroke helps us to address health inequalities and accessibility needs for everyone affected by stroke.

It also shapes the work we do to improve diversity and inclusion in our charity. We are building an inclusive workplace and we want to attract the best talent from diverse communities. We are enabling and empowering our people to develop with us and lead the work we do with people affected by stroke.

We are keen to receive applications from people affected by stroke, people of colour, members of LGBT+ communities, and disabled people because these identities and experiences are underrepresented and would add enormous value to how we work

Solving inequity

To improve how we work, and what we can achieve for stroke survivors, we’re focused on increasing the representation of lived experience. This means that we want more people working with us to be from diverse and marginalised communities. We’ll put support in place during the recruitment process and ensure your manager is ready to support you in your role. Come be a part of the changes we’re making to support everyone affected by stroke.

Disability confident

We are a Disability Confident employer, and we are making great progress focusing on flexible working, reasonable adjustments and access to work. Our charity has a variety of staff network groups and we're committed to continuously improving our diversity and inclusion efforts. If you have questions, or access needs, we’re happy to discuss any support and adjustments we can make throughout the recruitment process so that you’re able to contribute your best in a way that meets your needs.
