Stroke changes life in an instant. Imagine losing the ability to walk, talk, or live independently.

Your donation helps stroke survivors get the support they need, so no one faces life after stroke alone.

With your support, we can:

  • Help people adjust to life at home after hospital.
  • Provide emotional and social support for survivors and their loved ones.
  • Rebuild confidence, independence and hope.

Frequently asked questions about your donation

Your generosity helps us to support tens of thousands of people every year. For every £1 you give, 79p is spent on our charitable work.

Even £1 a month can make a meaningful difference. Your donation helps us run our Stroke Support Helpline, provide online and in-person support groups, and deliver our Weekly Volunteer Calls service.

There are many other ways to make a difference. You can volunteer, campaign for us, or take part in a fundraising event in your community.

However you choose to get involved, you'll be helping stroke survivors and their loved ones.

Thanks to your support, we've already made a life-changing difference this year. We've reached over 66,000 people through our support services. Nearly 38,000 people received personalised support through our local services, while our Stroke Support Helpline provided guidance and reassurance during around 15,000 enquiries.

We also invested £2.4 million in new stroke research awards aimed at improving prevention, treatment and care.

(These are our most up-to-date figures for 2024/25).

Some employers and banks offer matched giving schemes, where they’ll match the value of your donation. This varies by organisation, so we recommend checking directly with your employer or bank to see if they take part. It’s a simple way to double the impact of your support at no extra cost to you.
