About this service

The Bridgend Peer Support and Community Networks Service supports stroke survivors to reconnect with their local community. You can attend a weekly group meeting to support recovery and stay independent after a stroke.

This service will connect you with other stroke survivors and carers though the group where you can share experiences and socialise in a safe and supportive environment. We’ll support and encourage you to get back to the things you enjoy like hobbies and interests and be part of a community again.

There’s a wide range of group activities to take part in from gentle exercise, wellbeing sessions, games and quizzes to guest speakers from your local community to let you know about support you can access.

Who is this service for?

We’re here to support anyone who’s had a stroke (including TIAs/mini-strokes). We’re also here for your loved ones, carers and friends.

Please note: One of our Stroke Support Coordinators will carry out an assessment, either during a home visit or over the phone to identify what matters most to you so we can best support you throughout your recovery. Joining the group requires a regular commitment to attend. The group meets every Tuesday from 10am to 12am.
