A one-off donation by text could help our Stroke Support Helpline Team team give life-changing advice to a caller struggling to cope with the impact of stroke or fund pioneering stroke research.
Your monthly donation could help provide practical and emotional information, advice and support to a person following their stroke.

One off donations

This is a charity subscription service for the Stroke Association. On first signing up you will be charged your donation amount plus two standard network rate messages. For every month after that you will just be charged the donation amount.
You’ll be opting in to hear more about our work and fundraising via telephone and SMS. If you’d like to give a monthly gift of £3 but do not wish to receive marketing communications, text 3REBUILDNOINFO, 5REBUILDNOINFO or 10REBUILDNOINFO to 70450.
Donations via SMS using other keywords
We promote additional keywords linked to specific events and campaigns. Where these are advertised, it will be made clear what the donation amount is. An alternative keyword will be provided to opt out of receiving marketing communications where relevant. Where this alternative is not provided, you will not be opted in to receive marketing communications from us.
Terms and conditions for one off donations
- Your support will cost the donation amount plus one standard network rate message.
- Donr takes a 5% platform fee:
- For a £10 donation, £9.50 of your donation will go towards rebuilding lives after stroke and 50p will be paid to Donr for processing your donation.
- For a £15 donation, £14.25 of your donation will go towards rebuilding lives after stroke and 75p will be paid to Donr for processing your donation.
- For a £20 donation, £19 of your donation will go towards rebuilding lives after stroke and £1 will be paid to Donr for processing your donation.
- To make a one-off donation please ensure you spell the SMS keyword carefully: 10STROKE and send your text message to the correct shortcode: 70085.
- If your keyword and shortcode are valid, and your text message is received whilst this campaign is active, you will be charged your donation amount via a bounce-back confirmation message. The charge will appear on your mobile phone bill or be taken from available funds on a Pay as you go phone (PAYG).
- If your keyword or shortcode are invalid, or your text message is received after the campaign or promotion has finished, you may still be charged your standard network message charge. However, you will not be charged the donation amount and you will not be donating to us.
- All supporters must obtain permission from the bill payer before sending an SMS text message.
- Please ensure that you do not send more texts than you can afford or your mobile network will allow. If you are under 16 years old, you must have your parent or guardian's permission to send an SMS donation to us.
